Burrow Head Walk

Follow a pilgramage walk from St Ninian's Chapel to St Ninians Cave

There are lovely walks from the Isle of Whithorn and few anywhere as dramatic or as important as this anywhere. Follow the signs from the village and follow the path to the cliffs of Burrow Head, look out for grey seals and spectacular sea birds. In Spring lovely wild flowers adorn the mosses. On the cliffs at the holiday park you can find the remaining posts of the 'wee Wicker Man' as this is where the closing scenes in the film were filmed. The walk can take you to St Ninian's cave and back ot to Physgill woods car park.

Approx 6 miles.

Whithorn Way

Burrow Head Holiday Park began life as a wartime military training camp for anti-aircraft gunners, whereby old aircraft pulled along targets, no doubt their pilots hoped for the best!
