Wigtown Scotland's Book Town

Wigtown is Scotland's National Book Town with about twenty quirky book shops, cafes, shops and an art galleries. The Wigtown Book Festival is at the end of September to early October.  Festival site click here. We would recommend booking tickets, restaurants and accommodation early.

The pretty town of Wigtown has quite a few places to eat including the Rendezvous cafe, Shoots and Leaves (V), the Craft Hotel. Wigtown also has a Co-op, butchers, golf club, garden centre and has a great farmers/producers market on Saturdays Mar to Oct. Parking is easy around the square.
