A tale of a hip bath

The hip bath shown above is in Newton Stewart Museum and is supposed to be the one used in the film The Wicker Man by the nymphomaniac librarian played by Ingrid Pitt, the Polish actress was best known for her roles in the horror films of the 60' and 70's, often to be seen in a form of undress.

She starred in The Wicker Man alongside Diane Cilentro, Britt Ekland, Edward Woodwood and Christopher Lee as Lord Summerisle, most of the film was shot locally see other posts. Though she was good for box office, it's suggested that she was mostly included in film as she, at the time was 'going out' with the Chief Exec of Rank Distribution, Rank were in the early 70's critical for any films wide release.

There are quite a few pictures of Ingrid in a bath as in 'The Vampire Lovers'.

The scene were she is in the bath was filmed in the castle at The Isle of Whithorn and I suggest that you look at the pic and compare the baths, the still below is from The Wicker Man.
